Here is a place where you can catch a glimpse of lakes, fields, mountains and various landscapes of British Columbia. I enjoy breathing the air the higher in elevation I go. There is a sweet smell to the atmosphere depending on the day. For those of you who have a heart that is tied with great love to our Mother Earth please enjoy this blog and I welcome your opinions and feedback Love and Light Colleen

Wells Gray Park, British Columbia

Throughout British Columbia there are many beautiful places. One place that captures my breath is Wells Gray Park. Around every corner there is beauty. From hundreds of waterfalls, to the many aspects of nature Wells Gray is magnificent.

This Beautiful Park is nestled east of Clearwater, British Columbia. Turn off the Yellow Head Highway (Hwy 5) at the Hub Gas Station. The road into the park is a great drive. Traveling on the ridge of the Clearwater River Valley around corners and up hills. Approximately forty minutes into the drive you’ll find the end of the road at Clearwater Lake.

There are boat tours and lots of outdoor adventure options and there are many things to explore beyond the end of the road. Traveling through the park is an experience of a lifetime and it can take a good week or more to tour all the trails and wilderness adventure. I have lived in B.C. thirty years and have toured the park many times. With each trip I find more areas I have never explored.

Azure Lake Sun Kissed

My husband, our friend and I went for our first boat ride of the season at the end of May. This is a dangerous time to be on the water as the run off is in full flow. There can be logs and debris to weave through.

We had a beautiful day and lots of food and drink. Off we go to Clearwater Lake it is approx 25 km across Clearwater Lake to the Upper Clearwater River. Our friend carefully navigated his boat up the water way. The Clearwater River is very shallow, so you can see the bottom as you travel. We went up the river until we found Azure River (approx 100 ft long) turning up Azure River into Azure Lake.

There is a portage for canoes so you hike your canoe through the wilderness trail to Azure Lake. Once we got into Azure Lake we went to the far end (approx 25km). Here lies Rainbow Beach and Rainbow Falls. There is a campground and the most wonderful beach and falls. I found the glacier water to be very cold in May however in August it might be bearable. Along the lake there are many waterfalls and untouched forest no houses or any sound other than nature. Ah what a beautiful day one to remember for years to come.

Here are a series of pictures taken at Azure Lake and Rainbow Falls:

My Back Yard

Good day to everyone. This is all new to me and I am hopeful to learn many things on this journey.

Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada. I feel blessed every morning when I go outside of our country home. The beautiful mountains and the sweet air are a great way to start any day.

The Sullivan Valley

This first picture was taken in early May from my back yard. Spending time in nature is part of my everyday. I hope you enjoy the essence of mother earth and the beauty of British Columbia.
